Sunburn: 10 natural remedies for relief
Summer is here! Time to enjoy the first rays of sunshine while relaxing on a terrace. Don’t forget your sunscreen – a first-degree burn can happen quickly, as UVB rays...
INGREDIENTS
Our Sun Gummies feature patented active ingredients at the core of their formula, ensuring optimal performance and uncompromising quality. We’re proud to highlight two of our key components: Lyc-O-Lutein 20% VBAF and Lyc-O-Beta® 20% VBAF, both developed with innovation in mind to support your skin and overall well-being.
They contain Lyc-O-Beta® 20% VBAF, a patented beta-carotene extracted from *Blakeslea Trispora*. This patented strain was specifically selected for its exceptional ability to synthesise beta-carotene with 99.5% purity. Mainly present in the "all-trans" isomeric form (the most efficient for conversion into vitamin A) this beta-carotene helps promote enhanced skin pigmentation and a naturally deeper glow (Stahl et al., 2002). Our lutein, Lyc-O-Lutein 20% VBAF, is a highly concentrated, purified lutein derived from marigold flowers. It is known for its superior antioxidant activity compared to other pigments (Kusmiati et al., 2019). This specific form of lutein is particularly effective at protecting the skin from oxidative damage caused by UV exposure.
Both Lyc-O-Beta 20% VBAF and Lyc-O-Lutein 20% VBAF benefit from an exclusive micro-encapsulation process that enhances stability and bioavailability while reducing oxidation and waste.
CLINICAL STUDIES
A randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled study was conducted over 12 weeks with a sample of 46 individuals aged 18 to 45. Participants received a daily supplement of 10 mg of lutein, along with 2 mg of zeaxanthin isomers. The aim was to assess the impact of lutein on overall skin tone and skin luminance.
Results showed a significant improvement in skin tone in the supplemented group compared to the placebo group (P < 0.0237). Additionally, skin luminance (L* values) increased notably, suggesting a visible boost in skin radiance for participants receiving the actives.
Our Sun Gummies are formulated with Lyc-O-Lutein 20% VBAF, a highly concentrated and micro-encapsulated lutein with a clinically tested high dose of 10 mg per two gummies. The formula is enriched with patented beta-carotene from *Blakeslea Trispora*, along with copper and vitamin E, to support a healthy tan and help protect the skin.

RESULTS
Developed to help your skin tan better, faster and for longer, while keeping it protected.
The beta-carotene in our formula plays a key role in enhancing the skin’s natural pigmentation during sun exposure. As a precursor of vitamin A, it helps speed up the tanning process by stimulating melanin production (the pigment that protects the skin from UV damage and gives it its golden colour (El-Batal et al., 2017; Buitrago et al., 2016). At the same time, copper) an essential cofactor of tyrosinase, the enzyme responsible for melanin synthesis, supports this process, reinforcing the effects of beta-carotene. Together, these two actives promote effective, long-lasting pigmentation while contributing to skin protection against UV rays.
Our formula includes vitamin E (12 mg) and lutein (10 mg), two powerful antioxidants that help protect the skin from UV-induced oxidative stress. Vitamin E is well known for its antioxidant properties, neutralising free radicals caused by sun exposure, helping prevent premature ageing and supporting cell integrity. Lutein complements the action of vitamin E by absorbing harmful blue light and further shielding the skin from UV-related damage, contributing to a healthy, resilient complexion (Keen & Hassan, 2016); (Berardesca & Cameli, 2021); (Ghazali et al., 2022).
As shown in clinical studies, we recommend a minimum of 12 weeks (4 jars) to maximise results. For best outcomes, start your course 3 weeks before sun exposure to prepare your skin, continue during exposure to boost effectiveness, and maintain for at least 3 weeks afterwards to prolong your glow.
SCIENCE
Tanning is the skin’s natural protective response to ultraviolet (UV) radiation, involving increased melanin production. This process helps defend the deeper layers of the skin from UV damage, which can contribute to premature ageing and the development of skin cancer.
The tanning process begins when the skin is exposed to UV rays. These rays penetrate the surface layers and stimulate melanocytes — the cells responsible for producing melanin. In response, melanocytes increase the activity of tyrosinase, a key enzyme in the melanin production pathway. Copper acts as a vital cofactor for this enzyme, supporting the conversion of tyrosine into melanin. Once produced, melanin is transferred to nearby epidermal cells, boosting UV absorption and giving the skin its characteristic tanned appearance.
Antioxidants such as vitamin E and lutein play a crucial role in protecting the skin from oxidative stress caused by UV exposure. Vitamin E, a fat-soluble antioxidant, helps protect cell membranes from oxidation. Lutein, meanwhile, helps filter blue light and supports the skin’s defences against harmful environmental factors. Studies have shown that these nutrients can help reduce the severity of UV-induced erythema and improve the skin’s resistance to sun-related damage (EFSA Panel on Dietetic Products, 2012; Aimjongjun et al., 2013).
Copper and beta-carotene also play a direct role in the tanning process. Copper supports melanin synthesis by activating tyrosinase, while beta-carotene (a precursor of vitamin A) contributes to skin pigmentation and may help protect against photo-oxidative damage (Biesalski & Obermueller-Jevic, 2001).

The Solar gummies are naturally lemon flavoured! This flavour, reminiscent of the southern sun, offers a fresh taste combining both tartness and sweetness.
The Solar gummies are formulated with beta-carotene and copper which act on the activation of the production of melanin (natural pigment of the skin) in order to obtain a naturally tanned complexion, complemented by extracts of lutein and astaxanthin, two powerful natural pigments to limit the harmful effects of the sun on the skin.
The Solar gummies are vegan food supplements rich in active plant ingredients that allow you to obtain a gradual and natural tan all year round. They also prepare the skin for exposure to the sun, protect it from the harmful effects of UV rays, and prevent skin ageing, for a tanned and radiant complexion.
Our Solar gummies have been specially designed for adults. If you are under 18 years of age, we advise you to consult a health professional before taking any food supplements, including our gummies.
Yes, it is recommended to follow the treatment for at least 3 months in order to obtain optimal results. After this period, we recommend that you take a break of at least one month and then repeat the treatment as soon as you feel like it.
The recommended daily portion is 2 Solar gummies, ideally taken with a meal. If you want to achieve a sun-kissed complexion all year round, we recommend a 3 months course of treatment for best results. If you want to prepare your skin specifically for a summer tan, we recommend that you take the treatment before, during and after exposure to the sun.
The Solar gummies are not recommended for chronic smokers due to the presence of beta-carotene. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, we recommend that you consult your doctor before taking any food supplements, including our gummies.
Surveys of heavy smokers in France have shown that high levels of simultaneous beta-carotene consumption may increase their risk of lung cancer. Even if the cause and effect relationship has not been demonstrated, as a precautionary principle, chronic smokers are advised not to consume food supplements containing beta-carotene.
